Ang Geck Geck Priscilla (B.A. NTU, 2012) graduated from the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), Nanyang Technology University of Singapore (NTU) with a focus on film.

Instilled with a good work ethic from an early age, Ang Geck Geck started working at the tender age of 13 and has never looked back since. At times, she would even juggle two to three jobs while schooling. She worked as a banquet waitress, an ice-cream door to door salesgirl, a Kopitiam girl, an admin girl at UOB credit card department, a sales executive in an event company… Name any job and she will share with you her experience!

Her work is driven by her desire to give a voice to the weak. She believes a good film can touch the lives of many, and make the world a better place to live in.

She has directed various short films and commercial works. In recent years, she worked with brands such as OCBC, POSB, MasterCard, Hotel Jen Tanglin and HP. She has also worked with notable creative agencies such as BBH, BBDO, Grey Agency and McCann.

In 2013, her debut film, Broken Crayon, received a few accolades and won the Best Short Film Award at the Singapore Short film Festival. She was also featured in The Straits Times and other online articles such as Blouin Artinfo.

Geck took her passion overseas, becoming an Alumni of the Busan Asian Film Academy (AFA) in Korea as a director. There, she made a short film titled Black Mirror with her fellow Asian filmmakers in 2014.

Subsequently, she continued to make another two short films, titled Three Little Pigs and Happy Birthday. These films are under a trilogy of the series “Ah Girl”. Three Little Pigs went on to be selected for screening at the Singapore International Film Festival in 2014 and D’ Panda Hong Kong International Film Festival in 2015. Three Little Pigs was also screened on Singapore Airlines as one of their in-flight movies for the holiday month of June.

Another notable achievement of Geck’s was being awarded a $250,000 grant from the Media Development Agency, a rare feat in the Singapore film industry.

Besides being behind the camera, Geck has also been featured in magazine and newspaper articles for her achievements as a young female director. She was mentioned inThe Straits Times article ‘30 of Singapore's Rising Stars Under 30’ and appeared on the cover of the ‘HEY NTU!’ magazine as a successful alumni.

In 2016, Geck was featured alongside other panelists which included Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, in a Channel 5 Talk Show called ‘Let’s Talk About It’ where she represented her generation’s counterparts and also an artist in the Singapore arts scene.

In 2017, both National TV and Channel News Asia (CNA) did a 30 minute autobiographical documentary of her as one of Singapore’s Promising Young Directors. In conjunction with National Day 2017, she was also commissioned to make a short film inspired by the theme of ‘Home’.

In 2019, she was appointed as The NXT Head of Juries for The Crowbar Awards under Film and Photography. In 2020, she made her first web series, "Another Day in Paradise", which was nominated in T.O. Webfest 2021, 23rd Seoul International Women's Film Festival 2021 and Series Mania 2021. It was also screened under the S-Drama Program at 39th Busan International Short Film Festival, where she was invited as a panelist to share about her creative process.   

In recent times, Geck has been working on her new feature film, Ah Girl. Her screenplay for Ah Girl was selected for Singapore International Film Lab 2016 (SGIFF) and Southeast Asia Film lab 2018 (SEAFIC). 

At the same time, she is working on a new anthology series about women-centric narratives called,O!, which was shortlisted at the Asian TV and Forum Project Market Seascreen 2021.
